Meet Our Team Of Producers, Mixers & Engineers

Carl Bown

Producer/Mixer/Studio Owner

Carl is one of the most exciting record producers coming out of the UK Today.

Cutting his teeth making demos and albums for as many bands as possible, he has been recording music in one form or another since the age of 12. An accomplished guitar player, he started recording his own band on his grandfather’s 1/4 inch reel to reel tape machine after quickly discovering the “sound on sound” function – Carl was hooked.

Now the owner of 2 fantastically equipped recording and mixing studios – these original guerrilla recording days have laid a fantastic foundation of problem solving and inventiveness that now carries into Carl’s productions today....see more

Colin Richardson

Legendary Record Producer

Colin Richardson is without doubt one of the world’s finest record producers.

Starting in the early 80’s at a studio in Rochdale called “Cargo”, his work revolved around Punk bands such as GBH and Discharge. Moving to East Yorkshire in 1983 he continued his engineering career working with some of the now great Goth bands such as Sisters of Mercy and The Mission.

Colin started working with Metal in 1989 when UK label Earache started putting their bands into Slaughterhouse studio. This twist of fate allowed him to work with the trailblazers of the day: Napalm Death and Carcass. ...see more

Jim Pinder

Producer/Mixer/In-house Engineer

Jim is rapidly emerging as an established engineer, producer, mixer and songwriter. As well as engineering credits with major acts such as Bullet For My Valentine, Fightstar, Machine Head and While She Sleeps, he is now gaining attention for his own production and mix work for new acts like Shvpes (Universal/Spinefarm) and As Lions (Eleven Seven Music).

From a young age, Jim immersed himself in the art of writing and recording music. As the lead singer and guitarist in his own band, he spent 15 years on the road, working in many studios and making plenty of mistakes along the way; eventually resulting in the band signing a record deal. These experiences have helped shape Jim’s attitude to making music. ...see more
